Data Sources
Where our data comes from, how we verify it, and what you should know before relying on it.
Our data comes from official Australian Government sources
Every dataset published on StudyVisaHub is sourced from publicly available Australian Government open data. This includes official statistics on student visa applications and outcomes, international student enrolments, higher education sector performance, and migration program data.
These datasets are released by Australian Government agencies under open-data frameworks, including Creative Commons Attribution licences. We acknowledge the contribution of the Australian Government in making this data publicly available.
How we use it
We ingest, process, and present government open data in formats that are easier to read than the original publications — charts, tables, country-level summaries, and trend indicators. Where we calculate derived figures (such as grant rates or sector comparisons), we document the calculation logic clearly on the relevant page.
We cross-check figures across multiple source publications before publishing. Where sources disagree or definitions change between reporting periods, we note this on the relevant page.
Data categories covered
- Student visa statistics — application volumes, grant rates, and refusal rates by country of citizenship and education sector
- Evidence levels — the risk-based assessment framework applied by the Australian Government to student visa applications from different countries
- International student enrolments — enrolment volumes by nationality, education sector, and state or territory
- Higher education and training sector data — provider enrolments, course categories, and publicly registered institution data
- Migration and demographic context — population and migration statistics that provide context for visa and education trends
Refresh and currency
Data is refreshed regularly as new official publications become available. Each dataset on the site carries an “as at” date so you can confirm how recent the figures are. We do not publish data that cannot be attributed to an official source.
Limitations — please read before making any decision
- Government statistics are subject to revision after initial publication. StudyVisaHub republishes the most recent version available at the time of each refresh, but figures may be updated at source without notice.
- Aggregated grant rates reflect historical outcomes across large populations. They do not predict the outcome of any individual visa application.
- Definitions, categories, and reporting methodologies used by government agencies may change between reporting periods. Where this occurs, comparisons across periods may not be like-for-like.
- This site provides general information only. Nothing published here constitutes migration advice or a substitute for professional advice from a Registered Migration Agent (MARN) or an Australian immigration lawyer.

Scholarship data sources
Scholarship listings are aggregated from public Australian Government and university sources, including StudyAustralia.gov.au, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Australia Awards), and individual Australian universities. Data is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) where applicable. We re-present and structure this information for student discovery; final eligibility, value, deadlines, and intake must be confirmed with the awarding institution.
